- The Diamondbacks have expressed interest in Phillies' lefty Cole Hamels, reportsJerry Crasnick of ESPN. Arizona is probably an unlikely suitor for Hamels, as they probably won't be making the playoffs this season, five games out of the second Wild Card spot. However, they could add him in hopes of contending in 2016 or beyond.
- The Padres have discussed a Justin Upton trade with the Orioles, Jayson Stark of ESPN reports. The deal talks could expand to include Padres pitching, per Stark. It's still unknown if the Orioles plan on buying at the trade deadline.
- The Cardinals and Brewers have discussed an Adam Lind trade, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold reports. Lind would make sense for the Cards, who have lost fellow first baseman Matt Adams for the season due to injuries. They have been interested in plenty of first basemen over the past month.
- The Nationals, Blue Jays, and Astros are among the teams showing interest in Padres' closer Craig Kimbrel, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. All three teams have been showing interest in relief pitching, as it can be very important down the stretch in the postseason.
