Michael Bourn, the arguebly best free agent left, has just left the market. He has been signed by the Indians to a 4 year, $48 MM deal. There is a vesting option for 5 years.
The Indians also signed Jason Giambi to a minor league contract. This could be an interesting move because if Giambi proves he can hit and stay healthy for 80 games, he could be dangerous as a DH. He still believes he's powerful, but every year he gets that much slower. I like the risk here, though. Bourn was signed at a great price, due to the fact that he was asking so much more at the beginning of the offseason. I think the Indians have made some very smart and price efficent moves. These could really help them. I am sorry for my lack of keeping up with all the free agent signings happening this winter, but I haven't given up on my site. With pitchers and catchers reporting Feburary 11, I wanted to start updating you on Spring Training. So, starting on Feburary 11, I will post the first day of games on my page and leave it there until the games have been played. I also have decided to place a new tab on my website. It will be called "World Baseball Classic" and will be started the day players report and finish at the end of the MLB season. It will have scores and brackets for the WBC. Enjoy!
