Michael Bourn, the arguebly best free agent left, has just left the market. He has been signed by the Indians to a 4 year, $48 MM deal. There is a vesting option for 5 years.
The Indians also signed Jason Giambi to a minor league contract. This could be an interesting move because if Giambi proves he can hit and stay healthy for 80 games, he could be dangerous as a DH. He still believes he's powerful, but every year he gets that much slower. I like the risk here, though. Bourn was signed at a great price, due to the fact that he was asking so much more at the beginning of the offseason. I think the Indians have made some very smart and price efficent moves. These could really help them.
