The Phils added two veterans to their pitching staff today in John Lannan and Mike Adams. The Phils signed Adams, the former setup man for the Rangers, to a 2 year $12 MM deal with a vesting option for 2015. They also signed Lannan to a 1 year contract worth $2.5 MM.
The Phils filled two very important needs this Saturday in Lannan and Adams. Adams will definatley bolster that 8th inning before Papelbon and Lannan may be a starter in place of traded Vance Worley. Lannan may have to beat out rookie Tyler Cloyd for that 5th spot, assuming Kendrick gets the 4th spot. (Obivously Halladay, Lee, and Hamels are at the top of the rotation)
