MLB Roundup: 1/19/2015: Cubs acquire Fowler from Astros; Rangers acquire Gallardo from Brewers

Here's the roundup of moves from January 19, 2015...

• The Chicago Cubs acquired veteran outfielder Dexter Fowler from the Houston Astros in exchange for infielder Luis Valbuena and right-handed starter Dan Straily, the teams announced. Fowler will likely be the Cubs Opening Day center fielder in 2015. (More details on MLBDailyRumors.com here)
• The Texas Rangers added to their starting pitching staff yesterday as well, officially acquiring Yovani Gallardo from the Milwaukee Brewers for three prospects, including infielder Luis Sardinas (the Rangers' seventh-best prospect according to Baseball America), right-hander Corey Knebel, and minor league righty Marcos Diplan. Gallardo slides nicely into the third spot in the Rangers' rotation, behind Yu Darvish and Derek Holland. He is a free agent at the end of this season and could be in line for a qualifying offer.
