Former 16 game winner Aaron Harang has been signed by the New York Mets to a minor league contract. The Mets have been continuing to sign former solid pitchers, to try and determine who will be in the 2014 pitching staff. He is expected to join the rotation before the end of the season, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN, and is expected to help the Las Vegas 51s (Mets Triple-A) throughout the playoffs.
Harang spent time with Seattle in the majors this season, as he went 5-11 with a 5.76 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP in 22 starts. He was released by the club, and has now signed with the Mets. He has a 4.29 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP for his career.
