The Blue Jays and Indians completed a 2 player for 1 player deal. Let's break down this deal:
Indians Recieve: Infielder Mike Aviles (2012 Stats: .250 AVG, 13 HR, 60 RBI) Infielder Yan Gomes (2012 Stats: .204 AVG, 4 HR, 13 RBI) Blue Jays Recieve: Pitcher Esmil Rodgers (2012 Stats: 3-3, 4.69 ERA, 66 Apperances) I believe that the Indians got the best of the trade. They got a good hitting Aviles and a young talented Gomes. The Blue Jays got a seasoned reliever with an average ERA. If Rodgers can keep his ERA down he could be an above-average reliever this year.

I think this was a gamble that could go either way. I too think that the Indians got the best of the deal, but Rogers seems like the kind of guy that could be a late bloomer, like Gavin Floyd.
