As I reported earlier, the Cubs and Rangers were in serious talks over Matt Garza. It was said that the Rangers had 99% chance of acquiring the ace, and medical reports were "reportably" being exchanged between the two teams. Now, hours later, Garza's trade market is wide open. The deal with the Rangers hit a snag (meaning that it isn't set into stone), and the Cubs will be listening to deals from other teams besides the Rangers. It was also reported by Jim Bowden of ESPN XM that Neil Ramirez was scratched from his start. Ramirez was "reportably" inloved in the trade talks. But, those reports were false, and Ramirez continued to make his start. How did this deal stop progressing? Maybe Garza isn't completely healthy. It was said that all the Cubs and Rangers needed to do was exchange the medical reports, and then the deal would be finalized. Therefore, either the Cubs or Rangers were not happy with what they saw in the reports. Garza will be dealt and it'll happen soon. But, just not today. And, maybe not even to the Rangers.
