The day after the police caught suspect #2 from the Boston Marathon bombing, the Red Sox resumed play. Both the Sox and Royals were wearing patches that said "Boston Strong." The fans continued the new Boston tradition of singing the national anthem, which was started three days ago at a Bruins game at the Garden.
After going the first four scoreless, the Royals came through in the top of the fifth with a Jeff Francoeur RBI Single. But, when the dust settled, the Sox were on top 4-3.
And, the Sox finish off a saddened week with a happy win. This win was more than 1 of 162 games. It showed that Boston is strong and will stay standing after the horrifing events in this past week.
