The Mariners just acquired infielder Robert Adaino from the Orioles. The Mariners gave up outfielder Trayvon Robinson. The Mariners acquired young depth to their team as Adaino is only 28. He has a career batting average of .235. The Orioles, on the other hand, acquired a young (aged 25), major league ready (90 Major League games played), outfielder. Though I think the Mariners got the best of the trade because of the depth, Robinson may turn out to be a very nice major leaguer.

Jermey Guthrie has just re-signed with the Royals. It has been announced that Guthrie signed a three year deal worth 25 Million dollars. Last year, Guthrie had a 9.50 ERA in Denver as a part of the Rockies. But, at the trade deadline, he was traded to the Royals, where he went 5-3 with a 3.16 ERA. He should really help this pitching staff. I think he's ready for a breakout season.
The Blue Jays just must love making a lot of noise this offseason. After making a huge trade with the Marlins, the Blue Jays now have a new manager to manage this star filled team. John Gibbons the former manager of the Jays from 04-08, is managin the team again. He gets to manage a new-look Jays team. Look for the Jays to be really good next year.
The Yankees are keeping their pithcing staff the same. They just re-signed Hiroki Kuroda to a 1 year, 15 Million Dollar contract. Kuroda went 16-11 last year in 33 starts, while posting a 3.32 ERA. He should keep the Yankees' rotation stable. The 38 year old led the team in wins, starts, ERA, complete games, and shutouts last year. The Yankees are going to continue to have a starter they can count on in this year to come.
Juan Pierre, the former Phillie, was signed by the Marlins in a 1 year, 1.6 Million Dollar deal. The 35 year old hit .307 with the Phils last season. He also had 37 Stolen Bases. Pierre has 2,141 career hits, and has 591 career stolen bases. He is a nice addition to this Marlins team who just laid off most of their stars.
