After suffering another ankle injury, Yankees Executive Andrew Cashman, said that Derek Jeter may not be ready for opening day. Jeter suffered ankle injuries last year, even while putting up a great season. The Yankees are falling apart this year. I wonder what's in store for their season. It may not be the best.
After Curis Granderson and Mark Teixiera have gone down this season, the Yankees are seriously in the dumps. Their Manager, Joe Girardi, will have to be very creative to be able to make up for these injuries. Also, will the pitching staff hold without the run support? I don't know. This could be a terrible year for the Yankees.

After fracturing the tip of his thumb, Chase Headley will be out for the first month of this season. The Padres will be shorthanded at Third Base and will have to rely on youth and backups to survive the first month of the season.
Options: Edinson Rincon Who is hitting a .071/.133/.071 line this Spring. Free Agency or Minor Leagues Headley was the face of the Padres last year, supplying most of the team's power. In late January, a report came out that a "doctor" in South Florida, had been dealing PEDs to many major league baseball players. The MLB suspended minor leaguer Cesar Carillo for 100 games due to PED usage, and are going head hunting again. Earlier today, the MLB was looking at Ryan Braun and Alex Rodriguez, because both had tested positive for PED usage in the past. Braun did not get a suspension, due to a very well handled appeal. Now, the MLB is looking at the list as a whole, which includes:
Melky Cabrera (Blue Jays OF)--Suspended Last Year for PEDs Bartolo Colon (A's Pitcher)--Suspended Last Year Nelson Cruz (Rangers OF)--No Suspension Alex Rodriguez (Yankees 3B)--No Suspension (Has been suspended before) Gio Gonzalez (Nationals P)--No Suspension Ryan Braun (Brewers OF)--No Suspension (Appealed suspension for PED last year) And up to as many as 14 more athletes could be linked in some way to the clinic. Gonzalez, Rodriguez, and Cruz all denied the usage and acquisition of these drugs. The MLB will probably be handing out some suspensions here within the next few days. Both A-Rod and Ryan Braun have both been found in the Florida list from having acquired PEDs. Following the 100 game suspension of the Tigers minor leaguer, the MLB has wanted to make sure these two are not playing under the PEDs. Bruan got out of a suspension last year, when he tested positive, but did win the case for it. A-Rod has been previously suspended.
Aroldis Chapman, the 38 save, 1.51 ERA, closer was going to be moved to the Starting Rotation for the Reds. After what he put up last year, there is NO REASON to be messing with his routine or postiton. That's why he needs to stay as a closer, not change to a Starting Pitcher. Chapman announced that he does not want to become a starter, which I believe is a very smart move on his part. The Reds answer, though, may depend on how much they need a starting pitcher. This kid has so much potential, I can only hope that the right decision is made.
