The play of the season was just made last night.
Yoenis Cespedes just made one of the best throws of the 2014 season. In the eighth inning, with the Athletics tied with the Angels at one apiece, Mike Trout launched a rocket into right field, and Cespedes booted it into the corner. But he made up for that, perhaps saving the game, launching a throw from the right field corner to home plate, on a line, to nail Howie Kendrick. The play was reviewed following protests from Angels manager Mike Sciocia, but stood, keeping the game deadlocked at one. However, the Angels would go on to win the game in the fourteenth inning, on a Collin Cowgill walk-off home run. Cespedes leads the major leagues with eight outfield assists.
