Prediction: Roy Halladay Will Bounce Back

The doctor has some critics. How well can he pitch? Is he still as dominate as he was in 2011 or 2010? How is his health? Are there mechanical problems here? Look, remember Roy Halladay is still Roy Halladay. He is still the same guy who threw a perfect game and a no hitter in the same season. I think Roy Halladay will bounce back and finish in the top 5 for Cy Young Award Voting.

Don't believe me? Think about this:

In 2000, Roy Halladay had an ERA that was over 10.

In 2001, Roy Halladay was sent to the minors to work on his mechanics.

2002: 19 Game Winner, Sub 3 ERA

Still don't believe me? Doc has an ugly 6.75 ERA in 12 Innings this Spring, but has 10 Ks. In 2010, the season he threw 2 no-hitters, he had a 4 ERA with 19 Ks in 18 Innings that Spring. You could still say that Doc is too injury prone, or that he's too old to face younger hitters, but we are still talking about "Dominate Doc". I may be wrong, but I think Roy Halladay will bounce back this season. His first test is this Thursday against the Blue Jays.
