Rangers pitcher Derek Holland has had left knee surgery to repair cartilage after a fall at home, the team announces. He will not be able to return to action until the middle of the season. Jon Daniels said that the Rangers don't expect to add front line starter through free agency.
Holland, 27, has a career 4.36 ERA, a 1.332 WHIP, and a 100 ERA+. In 2013, Holland went 10-9 with a 3.42 ERA and a 1.286 WHIP while posting an ERA+ of 120. This came in 33 starts (213 innings pitched).
