The Tigers have signed Brad Ausmus to become their new manager, according to reports last night. Ausmus, 44, caught in 18 big league seasons, and posted a .251 batting average. Ausmus has never had major league managing experience, but is the manager for the Israeli national baseball team. He retired from baseball just three years ago. He and the Tigers will have high hopes coming into 2014, as they made it to the ALCS this year. Ausmus will be replacing Jim Leyland, who retired from managing last month.
