The Yankees will keep Ichiro this season on a 2 year, $13 MM contract. Ichiro said that he didn't want to play for any other team, but the Yankees, so there was no really other chance anyone else would be in for Ichiro. He took less money to stay in NY. Way to take a home discout!

On a 5 year, $80 MM deal, the Tigers have signed starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez. He went 9-13 last season with a 3.86 ERA. I think Anibal Sanchez was a bit over paid because of his record, but he does put up a pretty good ERA. I think he really deserved a $30 MM deal. This deal could pay off as Anibal could have a good season.
The Cardinals added veteran infielder Ty Wigginton to a 2 year, $5 MM contract. This deal is pending a physical. Wigginton will help use his skills at many positions to take up for the loss of Schumaker to the Dodgers. Last year, with the Phils, Wigginton was mostly a PH. This may be one of those high risk-high reward contracts.
Andres Torres will go back to the team he played for in 2009-2011. The San Fransico Giants brought back Torres to a 1 year deal. Torres was non-tendered by the Mets last month after hitting .230 with three homers and 35 RBIs in 374 at-bats.
The Red Sox have added pitching depth to their rotation today. Ryan Dempster was signed to a 2 year, $26.5 MM deal. He's a much-needed veteran added to this squad. He has gone 124-124 with a 4.33 ERA over his career. He also has 1918 strikeouts in 322 career starts.
